Guest guest
I swear by Benefiber. No taste, no grit, can be mixed with anything. Fay Bayuk
Guest guest
Good Morning, Fellow Grads: I've seen a few things about fiber lately, and I'd be very interested in knowing how everyone is getting their fiber in. It's not easy to do so when we have limited pouch space. I think the recommendation is 25-30 grams a day? (Don't quote me on that!) I think I'm luck if I hit 15 or 20 a day... I think Dave said that he takes a fiber supplement in his shakes (which one? =). I eat Flax-O-Meal hot cereal in the morning (low carb and 10 grams of fiber). I also eat Fiber One cereal (9? grams, but much higher in carbs). I eat a salad every day. I try to have a piece of whole-grain toast and some nuts every day. It doesn't seem as though there are many high-fiber things to eat (at least that we can get enough of in one small serving). I eat one or two fruits a day, and try for several veggies. I've also been trying V-8 juice lately. Any other suggestions/ideas/products for fiber? Guest guest
I really like Sugar-Free Fiber Choice tablets. They're orange-flavored, chewable, and they don't expand in your pouch at all. A 30-day supply (90) costs $10 at Target. They taste so good that even my almost-3 year old loves them, and I have to keep them up high because they don't have a child-proof cap! LOL Lots of people in our support group use these with success. :-) Ziobro (was Moseley) Open RNY 09/17/01 310/128/125 Re: Fiber Staci ~ The Flaxomeal is a good source of fiber. I also use Benefiber. You can mix it with just about anything but carbonated drinks. I mix it in crystal lite or wylers pink lemonaide and it is good. No taste, no gooey residue etc. It isn't cheap but none of that over the counter stuff is. It is worth every penny when I consider the consequences......*makes a face* Yep I wanna stay 'regular' at any cost! ~Hugs Melty~ Open RNY 5/1/98 -- -163 lbs Panniculectomy/abdomnioplasty 5/23/01 -- -15 lbs Dr. Lawrence Barzune, Dallas TX -- would recommend him 110% **considering myself at goal for over 2.5 years and maintaining but wanting to tone up and lose a few pounds/gain muscle. **considering breast lift --- Staci inocent1@...> wrote: > Good Morning, Fellow Grads: > > I've seen a few things about fiber lately, and I'd > be very interested in > knowing how everyone is getting their fiber in.
