Day 3 - I used the water pik without a bib, and didn't make a mess!

Yahoo!

I really wish I had learned to use it BEFORE having to deal with

using it banded shut, avoiding stitches, and drooling everywhere...

the first time we turned it on, we got more water all over the

bathroom than we did in my mouth.

What a funny story! I remember the first time I used the water pik -

and I got more water in my hair than in my teeth. I remember what a

life-saver that ting was when I had my splint in.. it got out those

stubborn peices of food that wouldn't come out!

I would be careful with it so soon after surgery - make sure your

surgeon says it's OK. Some folks have stitches they need to watch

out for! (Myself - I never found any besides ones that stuck out of

my lower jaw that looked like whiskers! They cut them off a coupla

days adfter surgery! )

The doc told me to get it, and to NOT pik my stitches. Now that

I've finally figured it out, it's becoming useful. The first couple

days I thought it was a joke and preferred to use a syringe that I

could point and press at my own speed. Only worked with the front

teeth, but that was better than piking everything in the room to be

piked, except my mouth!
