Guest guest
Hi again. I posted a message a little while back about having shoulder pain. Well, I haven't seen my surgeon or ortho again yet to ask them about it. But, I did go to another doctor and had x-rays taken of my shoulder. He did an exam and said that it looked like there was swelling around my sterno-clavicular joint (sorry- not sure how to spell it). Well, he said I had an unusual case because injuries like this usually come from some traumatic accident. I can't remember anything happening to me unless it is a very old injury that just became irritated from sleeping elevated. That doesn't make much sense though. He gave me some pain medication and some anti-inflammatory medicine and said to come back in a month if I'm not better. He also told me to alternate cold packs and heating pads too. After all of that, it seems like I was able to pin-point the spot of pain a little better. It seems like the pain is in my neck or either it has spread there. I'm sorry; I know I sound crazy. It just hurts so much, and the meds and ice/heat doesn't seem to be helping. It's been about two weeks since I saw that doctor. I'm going to ask my surgeon about it as soon as I can. I felt like it would be a stupid question, but I've got to find some relief somehow. I would really like to know if anyone has complained about this type of thing to him before. Let's hope he can tell me something!!! I just wanted to post this and ask all of you if you think I could have hurt myself somehow. For example, I have had times when I have opened my mouth a little wider than comfortable. I yawn a lot, and it usually hurts when I do. Also, I could have over-done it when I have tried to chew stuff too. Do you think this type of thing could have something to do with this pain? It's all on the right side of my jaw, neck, and shoulder. Mostly my neck now. I'm sorry. I keep complaining about this. Thanks for your replies, suggestions, and for just reading and sympathizing!! Thank you all! Thanks,
