Guest guest
I did. They put it in after they knocked me out, took it out sometime the morning of the next day after the op. I was REALLY grateful for it, as some of the stuff they give you makes you have to urinate like crazy. Others have been willing to make the 10,000 trips to the potty, but I was too woozy, I think. I actually had a male nurse, and didn't realize I even had the thing in there until he said, " I'm gonna take out your catheter now. " That gave me a moment's pause, but his technique was most graceful and gentle, and preserved his dignity and mine, completely intact. I didn't feel it coming out, either. But then I had to go. I thought. So he brought me a bedpan. And I couldn't. All in all, the catheter was way better than the alternative, in my book. Although I do think that at least some men have a more difficult time with them. And some people go through surgery without ever having one at all. Guest guest
i don't know if i had a catheter - if i did it was all done completely while i was asleep... but i did have to go the bathroom about a million times while i was hooked up to the IV... so many fluids. i had a male nurse too... man, he was cute!!! you know when you don't feel good when you don't care to let a cute guy help you to the bathroom while you're in nothing but a thin hospital gown and have him stand right outside the door while you pee. lol!!! i mean, i know he was a nurse and everything, but still. > > Did you have a catheter in while u were awake???? did they put it > > in while u were awake, and how long was it it if it was in. Guest guest
Nothing perverted about a catheter I will never know if I did or not as I kept my undies on... I couldnt' figure out why I needed to take them off... yeah I did the same thing when the x-ray tech said leave on your underwear - bras are underwear right? The techs burst out laughing as the underwires made happy type faces..with the metal snaps.. I think they probably for both parties involved do it while you are out. I did get a little weirded out after my surgery when my surgeon called in another one who'd observed my whole procedure but I never knew he was there as he wasn't in the room when I was out..I felt oddly like he'd seen me naked... Shiloh However I did have to pee badly after surgery and had to use bedpan as they don't let you get up in recovery..... > Did you have a catheter in while u were awake???? did they put it > in while u were awake, and how long was it it if it was in.
