Guest guest
Hi Everyone: I just wanted to thank you for your prayer's and well wishes. Fred is on Levaquin 500mg for a week and then I have to take him for more chest X-ray's. We're also doing breathing treatments here (yes! Bill he loves the mouth to mouth ) I even got him to rest today, that has to be a first for that man. Still really weak, but wanted to eat today, he hadn't wanted to eat much the last week .So that's a good sign I think. Also Pam , I wanted you to know that I had a call from a woman name Rita who's husband has MSA. I think she said that she got my number from Mayo, but I could be wrong , I didn't know they knew me. She isn't online , but her son has a computer so I told her I would send her the information about this group , so he can help her find us or get on himself. She does'nt live to far from Barb , so I got her number and called Barb and asked her to call her. I called Rita this morning and Barb had already called her. Another thing I wanted to let everyone know Barb won't be online for a little while , she has a virus in her computer and is having it fixed. It's the virus that is sending out email from people we know and it has a attachment to download, and only the email address of who it's suppose to be from. She thinks she got it about five days ago, so there is still a virus going around here. So watch out. Just wanted to check in and let you know what was going on. Take Care Vera
Guest guest
Vera: Thanks for updating everyone for me. I did have a virus, and I do think it came in when everyone on this list was getting them. I thought my Virus scanner was doing its job, but guess what? It expired in March, and I forgot to renew it. I renewed it today before I signed on, and I hope it is doing its job. My Computer man says he has had more virus calls since the first of May than in the whole year before. The thing worked its way into a lot of my files and made them work hard. I could use them most of the time but not always. I am clean today, however, and I shall not forget to update my Virus Scan next June and to check on it weekly. I have been thinking about Fred and praying he feels better very soon. Give him my love and tell him I expect to see him at the next meeting. I did call Rita as you suggested, and she is dealing with late stage MSA. She says it was her husband who used the computer, and it is very old, and she doesn't know if it would even work. Her son does have a computer though, and I suggested she ask him to try to get her on-line so she could have the support of this group. I know I could never have made it through if the people in this group and the PD Caregivers group had not been available to me every day. I joined this group after talking to Sylvia at Vanderbilt and she put me on the list herself. it was a pretty small group then, but the help was just like today. I hope Rita can get on. Take care of yourself; you are one very special lady. Love, Barbara
Guest guest
Vera, I certainly do hope that the medication will assist Fred. Infections, in addition to this disease, can make life tough. I would be surprised if Mayo released any info about you or your family. There are so many rules/laws about privacy. Marilyn in TN
Guest guest
Vera: Actually, Rita told me that it was her husband's doctor at UCLA who gave her your name. I don't know where the doctor got it unless Fred went there at some time or the doctor follows this LISTSERV? Barbara
Guest guest
Vera, I am so glad to hear that Fred is doing better and wants to eat. You are right, that is a good sign! He sounds like a typical man since he loves the mouth to mouth! I know you don't mind that part either! LOL I am keeping you both in my prayers.
