Guest guest
Lou, I have a split leg sling and Invacare lift and I have gotten Leo off the floor. It was not easy! Just got the sling under him like he was in bed and then had to raise him to a sitting position to hook the sling to the lift. Luckily I had some one here to help at that moment cause I had dumped him on the floor rolling him over in the hospital bed when we first got it. luckily he was not "damaged" except for a couple of scrapes. But ask the therapist and if they don't know, keep asking the people you got it from, etc. I finally called Invacare and they sent me a video on how to use it. And you do get better with practice! Guest guest
Ginger: We too have a split leg sling and invacare lift. I really don't feel great about using it, but have not had the need the last week or 10 days. I know I can learn, as I have a friend who was my age (75) and used one for her husband. However, I am going to ask invacare for a video too. The physical therapist has shown me several times. My friend spilled her husband only once, she said. But I still need more confidence--then maybe Sam will feel better about it. Oh well, live and learn.
