What I wondered about this post is the GP's knickers all twisted -- 22.7 is MID range and NOT underweight or close... why is s/he concerned with your nutritional status unless you have some poor/dropping lab results you haven't shared about??? My surgeon began to freak at me when I hit below his 80% and has gone so far as to tell people that I am not a good example even though my labs are excellent, my bone scan is better than average for my age and I eat very healthy (heart healthy) exercise regularly and my heart (echo and nuclear) are in better shape than ever!!! I'm not " thin " looking based on people who never saw me at nearly 300 lbs and even the others who knew me big are getting way more used to me now... it just took time... for me and them. Sorry -- just ranting... LOL... heard that " your getting way too thin... " story for so long from so many -- even medical folks that know I'm not to thin (except my cardiologist who is quite pleased!) My PCP who is good with the whole thing now that she has 2 years of labs and Dexa's to look at -- my surgeon though... still holds on to that " too thin " mentality and I just don't " get it " as to " why " if I'm normal and healthy. Many charts don't put us at underweight until our BMI is below the 18 range -- my ideal size usually has me around 20 and I'm really comfortable right there and I'm " mid-range " normal... 22 is still mid range normal -- so why??? Unless you really do have a nutritional issue is your GP bothered with your weight? **** Obviously, not right now while your tummy is in such dis-order, painful and not taking to food right now...*** but, under normal circumstances your size IMO is fine... ALL of us are fine in the " NORMAL " range BMI's RANT OVER -- , if you cut the milk/dairy and stop it with the PB for now can you get / keep down something like a bland boiled egg, chicken broth (only) some basic bland foods? It is great you can keep down your shakes at least and your vitamins... are those staying down ok? On the SSRI, I've been on them for 11 years and haven't had a problem with a build-up issue but have found that some SSRI's make me hungry, some make me dream (wild) and not sleep well and yet others make all food/drink taste really weird... for the last 4 year (5 maybe now) I've taken the same one with good results.. just took a lot of trial and error to find the right one for me. Post surgery, I have had to actually double it but I think it is because it is a coated pill and their isn't an alternative liquid, non-coated or other WLS friendly choice... alternately I can let it soak in a teaspoon of water till the coating dissolves mostly and then try to swallow it but OMG it totally gags me it is so awful... I can't hardly swallow it that way at all and keep it down without heaving it. I tend to go with the flu bug possibility as well... so many have had it lately!!! Also, I am wondering since you said it started in the pouch area (high tummy) and worked its way down (pain wise) that it just could be rejection of the choices of food types -- alternating on to something totally different to see if the same thing happens might provide some answer (?) like plain chicken broth... warm tea... sugar free Jell-O... not all in one day but just... one at a time to see? I don't do white so I don't do milk but PB will make me dump too... a very small amount is fine but a teaspoon full will make me dump big time... weird thing about PB is dipping my finger in for just enough will stop a HG episode but putting a whole spoonful will make me totally sick (dump type) f rom both ends for hours... a fine line no doubt. hugz, ~denise ps: Didn't mean to offend anyone with my rant about those who get all fired up when our BMI is in the " normal " range it's just that when my surgeon did that to me (repeatedly) it made me " feel " like I didn't deserve to be smaller even though I was totally healthy... didn't mean to step on any toes... just got that feeling back for a moment and had to rant...
