Guest guest
Hi all, Both sides of stem cell research show new promise in these news articles. However, ALL stem cell research (private and public) would be banned under the Brownback anti-cloning Bill before Congress right now. There is even the possibility that your doctor could be thrown in jail for telling you there was a cure in another country under that Bill. The Feinstein, Kennedy, Hatch (R-UT) and Spector (R-PA) bipartisan Bill completely bans any attempt to clone a human being, but allows cloning (growing duplicate human cells) cells for medical research and to treat diseases or disorders. Rhetoric aside this does NOT mean growing " body parts such as arms, legs and organs " . At best they would inject you with the cells and they would change themselves into replacements for diseased cells by taking on the DNA of the dying cells. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20020620/sc_nm/science_stemcel\ ls_dc_1 http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/020620/180/1q5hm.html Take care, Bill Werre
