Guest guest
I think waiting for my surgery date to roll around once it was set was harder than recovering. It's easy to have a million questions about what's going to happen running through your mind. You're not alone in how you're feeling right now. My surgery was just over a year ago now - March 12, 2003. I had upper segmentation to widen and change the angle of my jaw and lower advancement of 5 mm. > Thank you!! Guest guest
It really is nice to see how everyone is confirming the waiting is actually harder than the recovery, can't tell you how relieving it is to hear that. I am looking forward to being done with this:-) Thank you for your perspective and advice. Lillies > > Thank you!! Guest guest
You're welcome : ) Recovery isn't like taking a vacation by any means, but it wasn't nearly what I'd convinced myself it would be before surgery. This and the OSS2 site helped me SO much! Actually, I ventured to site 2 before coming here and I have some of my pre and post-op pics there in the two folders (got married, so they exist under different last names). I'll never forget the look on my Mom's face when she arrived in ICU the morning after my surgery. The tubes were out of my nose and the pressure bandage was gone, so it was really the first time she saw my face post-op. She asked me, " Have you seen yourself yet? " I shook my head no. " Do you want to see yourself? " I shook my head yes. Her eyes held a world of concern when she said, " Are you sure? " Again, I shook my head yes, so she popped up the mirror that was in the bedside table. I took one look at myself and thought, " Yep, that's what I figured I'd see. " I don't think my reaction would have been as calm had I not seen the immediate post-op pictures (namely Fiddlesticks) on site 2 before I looked in the mirror that morning. I just put a scrap book together for my OS this past weekend, and looking at the pics from each day of my first week post-op, it truly amazes me how quickly the human body works to repair itself. At any rate, you're certainly welcome to check out site 2 if you want to see any photos. I don't think the photos link here works - too many and not enough space alotted from Yahoo for them. Hang in there !! > > > Thank you!! I was beginning to FREAK out....easily done these > > days. > > > Well that puts me at rest alot. Guest guest
You're welcome. It's not likely you'll have any luck with the photos here at site 1. They've never worked since I've been lurking, which has been over a year, maybe even two. I've sorta lost count : ) > > > > > Thank you!!
