Hi everyone my name is ....I am 27 years old and I had open RNY

on 8-23-01, and hernia repair and a TT on 8-9-02. I am curretly

155lbs and started at 298lbs. i am 5'8 so I am happy with my

weight.

I have a problem and want to know if anyone else has had this

problem. i was standing in line at Wal-mart this morning and got

dizzy and just passed out. The lady behind me gave me a bite of

snickers and i was better after that. Is anyone else having problems

with their sugar or blackouts since their surgery. i didn't have

sugar problems before sugery. Also...another problem. Does anyone

else not get a full feeling? I had an upper GI about 2 months ago to

se if I had stretched my pouch and they said it had not stretched at

all. Everything is bypassing the pouch and going into the small

intestine. Any suggestions on either would be helpful!

Thanks

a size 8 and I love it!

Hi ,

Welcome! This is a popular subject quite lately! I have hypoglycemia - I'm

7 yrs out from a distal RNY 12/27/95. I check my BS, and the endocrinologist

said PROTEIN FIRST, little to NO sugar, (that includes milk sugar), protein

shakes for supplementation (150 g a day - whey protein made with H2O and

ice), and complex carbs IF I do carbs, careful with fruit - never on an

empty stomach, eat 2-5 oz of good food 5-7 times a day to keep a constant

blood sugar level.

Had you waited too long to eat? Sugar will help " recover " but then the

pancreas doesn't know what to do so it gets confused. My endocrinologist

said sugar was the worst thing for us to do.

Take care,

B
