Guest guest
According to Flanagan, L. Measurement of Functional Pouch Volume Following the Gastric Bypass Procedure. Ob Surg 1996; 6:38-43, some slight pouch stretching can occur after a year, but usually the stretching is done by then. Dr. Flanagan did make the observation that ultimate pouch size had no correlation to WLS success. Those with an 8 oz pouch were just as successful as those with a 3 oz pouch, and vice versa. It seems that it is not the size of the pouch, but how it is used that makes the difference.
