Guest guest
Hello everyone my name is Bob from Massachusetts, some of you will remember me as Sog. I know Vitalady will.... Hello Vitalady :-) I had open rny in June 97 and went from 367 to 185 and have been holding at 195 to 200 for about two years now?. I am ok with that although like the rest of us we can never get to skinny or two rich I would like to get that extra weight off. But that's not what I am trying to figure out. About two and a half years ago I was sick and the weight went down to 173 to make a long story short I had stage two colon cancer that I seem to have recovered from even though I have a couple spots on my liver foes not seem to be anything and I still need to wait for the five year mark. And believe it or not that is still not the problem. I am ok with that I think. For the past year an old heart problem has came back now that I am 58 years old. Its Atriel fibrillation and after the Doc's not having any luck with medicines and I wonder if the failyer of medicines has anything to do with malabsorbtion which is one of my questions, Now finally the crux of the story. It finally donned on me to perhaps ask in here. Two weeks ago the cardiologist put me in the hospital after trying two cardio versions that didn't put me back in rhythm. She decided to do an ablation and install a Pace maker. The summary is that the ablation did not work that well because in 1965 I had the femoral veins tied off and she had to go through the neck. I got a Medtronic kappa 800 dr pace maker and that has a double lead which is in both chambers of the heart as opposed to one chamber and this is supposed to pace me because my heart goes to low as well as two fast. The Doc. says it wont slow me down that's why I take 240 mills of verapemil and .025 of digoxin each day and 7.5 mills of coumidin. I feel very good and have almost no symptoms and am going back to work Mon. My question is what exactly does this pace maker do. The doc says that it can't slow me down that's why the medicine, but when I wake in the morning my heart is 57 an sometime during the day it can shoot to 145. I think the pace maker kicks in at 75. I asked the doc and her thinking seems to conflict with the booklet that I got that says it paces me to my activity. I went to the pace maker web sight and can't find anything, This model is so new It's not even on there sight yet. If anyone can figure out anything from what I said here I would love a little feedback. I am not asking for medical advice because I know better then that but when I have had questions in the past the identification I got was wonderful. Please post here or feel free to write me at this e-mail address or at sog1972@... Yours Fraternally Bob (Sog) sog1972@...
