The right side of my face swelled a little, and the left side didn't

much at all. I have feeling back in my left cheek now at day 13,

but not my right. I also only bruised on the right side - and I'm

having trouble with only my right eye. Doc has no explanation for

all this. He did work on both sides, you'd think both sides would

swell and bruise and be numb. Just be thankful for the half you

have!

Oh, baby. What to do?

You're gonna enjoy the help that everyone here tries to give you.

You are probably gonna keep on swelling for a day or two -- or six or

seven. To help stop that, or at least minimize it, I hope you're

gonna keep drinking lots of plain old water. Keep on using ice and

heat on your face as your surgeon told you. Move around some, but

don't try to work out.

And mainly fuel the body you need to support the healing process.

Let your friends and family take care of you. Find things you can

enjoy. Use a humidifier. And take your meds and drink, drink,

drink.... Too bad it's water and not vodka that you need, but that's

true! (OOps... Forgot that you're only 15... x that one out.)

try to do the things you can enjoy, though. There are some, believe

it or not. And this is the very best time to be pampered, if there's

anything you've always wanted your friends and family to do. A

pedicure? A manicure? a back massage (but be careful where you put

your face!)
