At least then when you have a " regina-moment " you'll just pop with no harm done! Heck, people will want to hug you constantly just to hear the satisfying pop pop! >>> this just really makes me wonder if we lose some connective tissue or mobility with our joints or ligaments or 'something' when we lose our weight? I had an AC joint out of socket for months and the pain eventually got to be daily and the chiropractor couldn't fix it - we didn't know the joint was out at the time. finally I mentioned it to my massage therapist and she found it and popped it into place. she did some range of motion stuff with my arm/shoulder and one literally made me Yelp and cry. she popped the joint back into place. then a few weeks later I started having upper back, lower neck pain and did the usual chiro visits, etc. went for a massage and she found a rib out of place. someone at work said I needed some glue to hold me together. got me thinking - wondering if we lose 'something' along with the weight loss? its also odd that these things happened after I stopped exercise - or maybe thats the key - not as flexible or something. anyone have any thoughts or medical info on this type thing? sue

I just know that pre-WLS my back hurt if I was on my feet for more than a few minutes. So I of course expected surgery was gonna remedy that when I lost weight. Well, I can stand all day long now, but I'm not pain-free and it bothered me so much to exercise (walking, yoga, water aerobics--all fairly gentle stuff, y'know?) I finally went to the pcp. She ordered lumbar xrays and whaddaya know I have arthritis of the spine with degenerative disc disease. Actually had to give up the yoga, at least temporarily, as I was hurtin' for days after every class I went to. Now I'm only walking and water aerobicising and back is better tho still hurts some of the time. Hoping herna repairs will help that even more. Have also developed pains in my knees -- more arthritis? and something akin to either carpal tunnel or trigger thumb. Was just in my left hand, now a bit in the right as well. Could just be creeping old age. But since it all started after surgery, kinda makes ya wonder. My old pcp (to whom I no longer go) never had anything good to say about WLS -- only vague warnings that there's " just too much that goes wrong afterwards...........
