Guest guest
Deborah and , I am getting the Jazzy 1420. It is suppose to be able to go outside and climb up 6inch curbs. I haven't got it yet but I am waiting for the insurance to pay for it and then I should have it in 2 to 3 weeks. My insurance will not pay for the lift on the car or the ramps either. I don't understand this because they should know you will need to go somewhere with it and also be able to get in and out of your house. If you find a way to get this paid please let me know because I have argued this to no avail. I have another question what is the air mattress for? I haven't heard anyone mention this, I don't believe. While waiting for the man to talk to me about the wheelchair I tested out some chair lifts and some of them I don't believe you would need a bed they were so comfortable! They really have some nice ones! Oh, another thing about my wheelchair that I am getting has the lift in it that goes back. I am not sure if that is standard or a part that my Occupational therapist ordered. She ordered alot of extras for it. I have also read a journal from a man named Doug (sorry can't remember his last name) who was trilled with his Jazzy. He has passed on which he is very much missed for all that he did for ALS. I am so glad that you have a case manager and that all of this is going your way. It sounds like has got a lot of things accomplished so far. I am going with the Bruno ALS 215 Outsider lll Wheelchair lifter with a swing away option. I have a new Expedition that is not a year old yet so as long as I get this installed on my Expedition before the year is up Ford will give me a $1000 towards the lift. If you have a new vehicle not a year old yet or plan on purchasing one a lot of car manufacturers will do this for you. Well you got all of my knowledge. I know Jan knows a lot more than me but thought I would help with what I know. Love ya, Belinda > Jan, > > This could be even less of a problem than you think in regards to Jerry's > mobility. and the case manager and my doctor put their heads > together last week. (Scary)!
