Hoping someone can help....

I have a friend in the Rochester, NY area who had her surgery in July

2001. She has lost 100+ lbs (yahoo!!) but has severe drooping tummy

skin with rashes. She recently received approval for a breast

reduction but is having problems getting a tummy tuck approved. She

currently has United HealthCare and knows there are others out there

who were approved for a tummy tuck.

Your assistance would be great appreciated.

My TT got approved by my insurance (CIGNA) for medical necessity. The

things that helped me get covered was: 1.) Persistant yeast and/or kidney

infections, 2.) Heat rashes resulting in diabetic sores, 3.) Strain on

lower back requiring pain or arthritis medication, 4.) inability to keep

area clean, and 5.) 2 feet of excess skin. The more medical problems

that she can attribute to the sagging skin the better her chances. Any

documentation that she can provide such as wound care, record of

infections, medications taking, etc.
