I too was not all that keen on having plastic surgery after having had

the RNY, then revision then two heart procedures, blah, blah, blah. But

after 2 1/2 years, the pain being caused by the hanging skin in the

abdominal area finally got the best of me and had the tummy tuck done

last April. Virtually no pain. Very sore, but can't say that I was in

any pain. Two weeks post op I developed a necrotic fat mass on the left

hip bone. Though not rare, does not happen on a regular basis from what

I was told. That was exceedingly painful and was on antibiotics and

painkillers for two weeks. After that, right as rain and my back pain

was gone and I could tuck in a shirt and wear a belt and see my feet.

Very glad I did it. As for the boobs, I'm tuckered out from all the

surgeries and though the procedure is covered, I can't even think about

it. Maybe when they finally hit my knee caps I'll do something about

them. Until then, I just invest in really good bras.

Bottom line, you'll know when it's the right time to have plastic

surgery. It's not for everyone and you may never be ready for it. There

is no law saying you have to.

I have a question. I am constantly having UTI's and kidney infections.

Do you think this might be because of the extra skin I have in the

pelvic area (aka...I have a lot of skin where my BUTT used to be). I

have loose stools......and try desperately to keep myself clean. Moist

toweletts are my friend at home, but sometimes I get stuck out in public

and even though I practically wipe away the skin (sorry for the

discriptions..... :-(( ) I find it just doesn't do the job at times and

it seems that this is when I get the infections. I guess this is

something I need to address with my Family Practice doc, but just want

your input. NOT that this new doc will listen. Sheesh

Yes. I had constant UTI, kidney infections, and yeast infections before

I had the apron removed.
