Hmmm - I realize mine are almost all food based! I often make

cranberry-apple-orange relish and can it and give it as gifts, or make

chocolate covered pretzels and put them in little saran bags or gift tins.

Both of these are extremely simple, quick and low cost. I also like to get

those little aluminum bread tins, and bake an assortment of quick breads, and

then give two or three of those as a gift.

Now this tip is probably only going to work for people in the south cause the

rest of the country may not have such disgusting stuff in the meat case

. My dogs think they have died and gone to heaven when I make these

treats, and it would be a nice gift.

Buy a package of Neese's Liver pudding. Cut it up into one inch squares.

Place on non stick baking sheet, bake for 2 hours at 250 degrees. My dogs

sit by the oven the whole time these are cooking.

eat them and neither are my friends, although they are completely edible by

humans as well. people actually seem more enthusiastic about the gift.

unfortunately I do live in the south [hillbillies, rednecks and the like]

but I don't claim any of their weird traditions or strange meat preferences

[i'm not from here and won't die here]. these dog/cat treats are made with

beef or chicken bouillon cubes and the rest is flour, corn meal, wheat

flour, etc. no road kill, by products or anything else.

How are the cookie mixes that are in the jars? You put all the dry ingredients

into the jar with the note to add whatever (2 eggs, oil and ?) and bake at 350

for x minutes.... and tie a ribbon around the top of the jar. My daughter's Girl

Scout troop made them one year. The cookies were really good.

LOL. And I have a bite of liver sausage every day when I wrap my dog's

epilepsy pill in it. It's the only way I can get her to take it, but I just

LOVE liver sausage, so I can hardly wait til pill time for her every

day...........
