Guest guest
I have a question that may lead into an interesting thread..... Since the loss of so much body mass, do you find yourself in awkward situations, like being totally " ungraceful " when it comes to judging distances between yourself and someone else or an object? I find myself stepping on people's toes when I try to hug them - not accustomed to getting so close, my feet hit them before my stomach does! I bump into counters, bump into doors, and so on. I have never been known for my grace, but my center of gravity is so far off that I sometimes stagger like a drunken sailor! Anyone else have similar things going on, and if so, what to do? Guest guest
Alice, My perception problem is just the opposite. I see an opening and think......OH I can't fit through there! I will wait until people move and is always wondering why I am waiting. It is because I think I won't fit. That goes for going around furniture......through isles in department stores....airline isles.......when I could actually fit! It is weird! Guest guest
Nuff said from you Regina.....but part of this stumbling and bumbling about has to do with your center of gravity having changed. I had and sometimes still have the worst time judging how I will fit through a doorway. Still feel big and bam! Slam into the doorjam. Bruises galore! Actually though, the center of gravity is also a good argument for reconstructive surgery. The weight of your tummy actually is pulling your forward. Make sense? Guest guest
And I still hesitate to step onto an escalator. Hubby asks what I'm waiting for. I couldn't see my feet so was afraid of tumbling down those metal treads. Sue in Las Vegas > Alice, My perception problem is just the opposite. What would you know about this topic Regina????? In reference to this story, Jon and I had the most bizarre experience dancing together when I first got to my current weight. We have always loved to danced but hadn't ever danced as close as we can now. Lots of bruised toes. I also noticed that when I lean in to " buss " someone on the cheek in greeting we often end up banging heads! Marjie
