Guest guest
This is mainly for the mom who has a daughter that is 13 and having surgery. A lot is said about age and if u have stopped growing. Now a days, it is pretty rare for an oral surgeon to recommend and go through with a surgery if they feel the patient has not stopped growing. I wouldnt be in doubt about the growing thing if my surgeon told me that it was fine and a good idea. I kno b/c i had some ppl informed me of the growing thing, which was somewhat helpful, and my surgeon told me he would not have mentioned it if he felt it was not a 100% good idea. I would guess that your daughters ortho also recommended or mentioned it, so i wouldnt worry too much. I kno some stuff about this b/c i am 14 and having surgery on April 21. I am getting my surgical hooks tomorrow, i am so happy it is finally getting close i have only been waiting for around 2 months but i am ready to get it on and over with. I can't tell u much more b/c there were already great responses that covered it and i cant tell u what to expect really b/c i haven't had mine yet, but i wish your daughter good luck.
