Guest guest
It's only been a couple of months since I saw the neurologist who suspected some kind of " degenerative nerve disease, " but I feel like symptoms are coming on really rapidly now! I have three more tests coming in the next month - but I'm concerned that I may need to be thinking about what will happen when I have to leave work. My husband and I need my second income - and I'm curious as to whether applying for SSDI requires a definitive diagnosis. LOL Waiting for the autopsy is not an answer. I doubt the fact that I've begun to make noises that I'm unaware of making is in any way significant - but it was pretty funny to realize that yesterday in the shower I was humming a refrain from " and the Wolf. " That must be annoying to my husband - and scary for him - that's the part I hate! Any help would be appreciated!
Guest guest
Anneamy, Basically to get SSDI you have to be disabled enough that you can not perform your basic job duties after your employer make " reasonable accomodations " . Ataxia alone can sometimes be a cause. Your doctors will have to write up all the paperwork, so they are the ones to question about when. No, it does not take a diagnoses of any disorder, only that the symptoms make you unable to do your job. Guest guest
Anne, Ok, I couldn't leave this alone. Are you sure an autopsy is not an option for disability? Lol! When you said that it cracked me up! I haven't heard and the Wolf in ages. I think you need to start worrying if you are humming the part you don't like. Yep, it sounds serious! Hope you are grinning because I am just enjoying your message. Oh yes, as far as disability, I haven't a clue. I was told I don't deserve it because my husband doesn't spend out all of his wages on my medical bills. I forgot we weren't suppose to have a place to sleep or anything to eat. Don't worry, my problem not yours. You will be ok in getting it. I hadn't paid in for the last 14 years. My mistake in working for myself and not paying into SS because I thought I would always be healthy. Boy, that is what I get for thinking. LOL Lots of love and gentle hugs, Belinda > > It's only been a couple of months since I saw the neurologist who > suspected some kind of " degenerative nerve disease, " but I feel like > symptoms are coming on really rapidly now! > > I have three more tests coming in the next month - but I'm concerned > that I may need to be thinking about what will happen when I have to > leave work. Go to Social Security after talking to your doctor about the problem. It is degree of disability NOTHING else. To be elgible you MUST have worked a certain number of years out of the last ten years and be disabled enough that you can not perform your daily job duties. It has NOTHING to do with how much money your husband makes. Take care, Bill Werre
