your surgeon will probably advise you to rinse your mouth with warm

salt water, at least for the first week or until the stitches come

out. once my stitches fell out, i started using ACT for kids... its

mild, no alcohol and it has flouride. that's about it.

i never got the zip and squeeze bags and only used my syringe for the

first week. i still have a small opening in my front teeth, which

i'm assuming the ortho will close off, so i've been able to use

straws. i don't know if that's bad or not, but my post-op visits to

the OS have been positive... i.e., i'm healing exactly how i should

be.

my wires come off in two weeks... i've had them on for four! i can't

believe i've been able to remain somewhat sane under these

conditions. but i'm a third of the way through and i hope these next

two weeks fly by!!! i'm ready to eat a big bowl of pasta. yummy.

good luck with your surgery! those 5 - 6 hours will pass seemingly

in seconds for you so no sweat! :)

You are so lucky to already be on the *other* side!!!

I am happy that you are healing well and I hope the same for me...
