Guest guest
your surgeon will probably advise you to rinse your mouth with warm salt water, at least for the first week or until the stitches come out. once my stitches fell out, i started using ACT for kids... its mild, no alcohol and it has flouride. that's about it. i never got the zip and squeeze bags and only used my syringe for the first week. i still have a small opening in my front teeth, which i'm assuming the ortho will close off, so i've been able to use straws. i don't know if that's bad or not, but my post-op visits to the OS have been positive... i.e., i'm healing exactly how i should be. my wires come off in two weeks... i've had them on for four! i can't believe i've been able to remain somewhat sane under these conditions. but i'm a third of the way through and i hope these next two weeks fly by!!! i'm ready to eat a big bowl of pasta. yummy. good luck with your surgery! those 5 - 6 hours will pass seemingly in seconds for you so no sweat! > Hi there! > > > I just had my next to final appointment with my Oral Surgeon and he > walked me through what he was going to do to me - and it is ALOT!! > Upper - forward 5 MM > Lower - Forward 3MM > Genio - Back 5MM > Cheeks - Forward - not sure how much. > > Wish me luck!!! > > In total, my surgery will take about 5-6 hours...which is crazy!!!
