Guest guest
Hi all, Went to the OS today (six weeks post-op) and she took the splint and put me in class II elastics. The rubber bands feel funky, but it is such a relief to have that thing out of my mouth! She told me that I could eat normally as I am able to. Key word here " able " . I still can't feel my teeth, so I wouldn't know if I'm chewing food or whatever, so what is the best things to start eating now? Any suggestions from you vets out there would greatly be appreciated. Also, is there anything I should be aware or careful of at this stage? Last thing... did any of you guys start breaking out (acne) after this surgery? I'm a walking pimple and it's driving me insane! I'm 34 years old for God's sake! Cyndi
Guest guest
Congratulations on ditching the splint! Yes, the zits are common post op, although I did not have them. Some ideas: they're caused by the steroids. They're caused by the diet changes. Whooo t.h.k. ???? My surgeon, at the last minute before I left the hospital, said, " Oh, Cammie. There's one more thing, about the steroids... " Answer from moi: " You talking about the zits, or the depression? " Answer from soi: " The depression. " I said I was ready to deal with it, I thought. I did not have the zits; did have a bit of the depression. Both pretty much went away, although I had more trouble with the depression, since I never had the zits. Just keep things clean, and keep on keeping on. You'll get through it. Cammie > Hi all, > > Went to the OS today (six weeks post-op) and she took the splint and > put me in class II elastics.
