Guest guest
Pat, The urologists is the one that got them for us, through the VA, that is a real help If Al has to get up for any reason all he has to do is pick up the bag and carry it. I hook the bag on the side of the bed and under it I put a plastic pan, like you get in the hospital. Just in case I should forget to clamp it shut, or it spring a leak. The neurologist thinks that it was a good idea. He wears depends during the day, in case he doesn't make it to the john on time. Guest guest
Dear Ann: The catheter sounds like a good idea at night and the pan under it sounds good also. I will ask Bob's Dr. about it. Bob seems changeable. Last night he only got up once. Some nights he gets up a lot more. Bob is a WW 2 Vet and probably could go to the VA but right now we go locally and to go to VA we would have to go to Boston. When we have Apts. the next day somehow he gets up more but when nothing is happening he sleeps almost through. That's the way it is - when I need my sleep it's difficult. Thanks for the info and good ideas. I appreciate this group so much. I have gotten so much info and help with ideas - it's priceless. Take Care, a few years ago when you were getting up a lot and wrote about it - you were one of the people I thought about at night when I was up - The name Soddy was intriguing - I thought of a place where floods had been probably in the "Ice Age" and it was very fertile. Guest guest
Ken always wore a condom catheter at night and when we were going out somewhere and he couldn't get to a bathroom in a hurry. He also wore depends. When he used one during the day, he used a knee bag which he didn't have to carry. it was attached to his leg. It was smaller than the big bag but totally unobtrusive. Medicare and our supplemental insurance paid for them and had them delivered. Barbara
