Guest guest
Howdy everyone! I am home from the experimental unit of Abington Hospital (and they don't even have a medical school LOL!). Just kidding. My primary insisted that they would know what to do for me there. The staff was fabulous, nursing care incredible. I truly wish they would find a bariatric surgeon there already because I know in my heart they would do it right. That said... They sent me home with no answer to my problem. However the problem seems to have resolved itself so we have decided to not look a gift horse in the mouth. They did have me eat two meals before the set me loose. They wanted me to eat three, but my roommate was snoring so loud and there was no lounge for us to hang in so I asked Jon if we couldn't just leave. He took care of it (as he takes care of everything) and we were out the door. If there is another occurrence we will go directly to University of PA (where they have an excellent bypass program), will not pass go or collect $200. Special thanks to: Betsy for the trashy magazines, the handheld Yahtzee game, the crossword puzzle books (for for on morphine and one for off LOL!), the wonderful visit and the Detour Bar that I didn't dare think about eating. Karin J. for the phone calls and offers to come get my kids. Regina (grad list) for exiting the bubble wrap and your hectic life to call and chat with me today. You are a very special lady and I hope and pray that the new year brings you health and good luck. EVERYONE else for your wonderful e-mails and keeping up with my antics. Sorry to have worried anyone...I hate being down and out! I have about 400 e-mails to read, but will catch up and be up to speed soon. PS.... wants to know if the offers to take the kids still holds now that we are home. LOL! Love, Marjie

Guest guest
Marjie mentioned the Detour Bar....whoa, what is the deal with that???? I went into GNC to buy my protein bars today and noticed this new one....the guy at the store said it was the best tasting one they carry. It is good on protein but seems a bit high on carbs, especially on sugars. I did try one, and it was scrumptious....almost TOO good. I think it would NOT be a good idea for me to have these around my house, may just be too much of a temptation. Does anyone know anything about them, and if they should be avoided? Thanks, marilyn JonnysGirl81@... wrote: > Howdy everyone! > > I am home from the experimental unit of Abington Hospital (and they don't > even have a medical school LOL!). > > Just kidding. Thanks, marilyn ---------------------------------- I just know I don't even LOOK at ANY protein bars anymore. They are just way way higher in carbs and calories than any protein shake, and usually not much higher in protein. I figure I get more bang for my buck (and carbs) sticking to the shakes.
