okay... so i'm really getting sick of being wired shut. i've been

back at work since day 9 post-op and it hasn't been bad. overall, i

feel pretty normal but i'm SO sick of people constantly talking to me

about my teeth. it is all anyone seems to know to talk to me about

right now. for instance, everyday i get asked when the wires come

off. i'm going to post a big sign at work - APRIL 27TH IS MY DAY OF

ORAL FREEDOM!!! the bright side is i've had several people offer to

take me to lunch! i don't know what i'll be able to eat, but i'm

willing try.

OH MY GOSH and my cheeks are still swollen. i've had a few people

threaten to pinch my cheeks (and one person who actually did). i

mean, its endearing that i work with such caring people... but i'm

just ready for this part of the recovery to be over with. i know the

swelling and the numbness in my gums will linger for a while... but

please let me talk, let me eat, let me brush the back of my teeth and

my tongue!!! 13 more days...

okay... just had to whine to people i know will understand...

thanks.

Whine on... You've traveled most of the distance at this point, so

just hang on. What's behind you is the biggest part of the journey.

I can't believe that someone would have been audacious enough to

pinch your cheeks.

I'm not a good enough actor to pull it off, but I'd have been sore

tempted to put a hand up and say, OMG! I think you've moved a plate

in there. Don't ever do that to anyone else! Now I have to go and

call my surgeon... "

Hey -- you might have gotten a half-day off and involved workmen's

comp in your case! (I'm just kidding about that part -- I do not

believe in fraud.) But seriously, can you imagine? I suppose you can.

And I suppose given the frequency with which people pat pregnant

ladies' tummies, nothing is surprising these days.

Take care,

cammie
