Marcia:

It's good to get this procedure done when you are young. I am 40, and

it is taking me 12 weeks to recover. I had upper and lower done along with a

bone graft. The OS said if I was 18 again I could be exercising again in four

weeks after the surgery, at my age I have to wait six weeks. I am currently

just over five weeks post-op. My OS and Orthodontist had my wisdom teeth

pulled before I had my braces put on and that made sense in my case. The OS

said

to expect numbness in my lower jaw for next 6-9 months and maybe longer. My

only regret is that I did not have braces on when I was a teenager and this

procedure done when I was younger. Though the technology then was probably not

there when I was 18.

Good Luck.

Kev.
