Iron Problem

I need some advice concerning my iron levels. I am post-op from August

'99 and have concerns about these levels; % SAT 14.8 (20-55); iron 74

(60-160); TIBC 500 (250-440); UIBC 426 (240-420). My surgeon's nurse who

fields all calls says that it's not significant, but that if I am

extremely fatigued (which I am!) I should consider a hematologist for an

iron infusion. Anyone out there familiar with this stuff? Thanks! M

Find out what your ferritin (your iron storage) level is. Mine was 2... zero

iron basically.

I have been getting iron IV from a hematologist since February.

A good thing to do, is find a hematologist - get the referral if you need to.

They are the experts.
