I know nothing about pancreatitis, but I don't think it would be a pain in the leg.............just mention it bcuz of the 2 beers. Referred pain, maybe? Guest guest
I don't know if this has happened to anyone else or not. I'm okay today but let me tell ya...... I got in from work last night, tired, I had about two beers (Ultra Light), and went to bed. Several hours later I woke up in extreme pain. The pain was in my right upper leg. I've had cramps in my legs, and now thinking back on it I suppose it could have been a cramp, but I don't think so. I've never hurt like this before. I woke up screaming.... I mean screaming out loud.... I got outta the bed and my right leg gave way and I hit the floor, I pulled myself up and made it into the living room where I was gonna use the phone to call for help. The next thing I remember is waking up on the floor in the living room. I remember, right before I blacked out that I was in so much pain that I wanted to die, I remember praying that God would just let me die. The pain was gone after the blacking out. I slept very little the remainder of the night, afraid that the pain would come back, it never did. I've worried all day, but no pain, yet. My upper leg is a little sore, but other than that it seems fine. I get plenty of K+ so it's not that...Anyone have any ideas? I'm gonna go to my doc on Monday. I'm havin' dinner with a few friends that are doctors Saturday night and I'll ask them, but until then I'm kinda scared. Guest guest
Dr. Jon says it could be Intermittent Claudication... A vascular (vein) condition related to several different factors. You may want to have your Primary doc refer you to a vascular specialist. There could be some relationship to the change in the venous pressure in your legs from the drastic change in the weight you are carrying. The veins and surrounding muscles go into spasm and can cause unbearable (sorry - no pun intended) pain. Marjie
Guest guest
Randy, I get that quite regularly. People think I'm nuts, but I get Charlie Horses in unusual places. The upper leg being one, the front of my calves being the other. Even more strange, when I get it in one leg, I know it will be within the hour that I get it in the other leg. No explanation why, but I found that when I increased my potassium supplements, they pretty much stop. Judy in the Windy City
