Guest guest
On Monday, I woke with a new issue that I am afraid might be fromRP. I had a pain in the middle of my chest (breast bone) right betweenmy breasts. Everytime I took a breath or moved even the smallest amount, I felt the pain. I stayed in bed for a few hours and then around noon I took an anti inflamatory and after a few hours I realized that the pain was gone! Does anyone have an opinion as to whether this is related to RP? I think I should have gone to the emergency room, but I really felt that they would not know what it was either! Guest guest
Dear Lillian, I have had these chest pains for several years and I believe they arre related to the RP, I'll look up why and get back to you unless someone else knows the answer off the top of their heads. Guest guest
Hi Lillian I think your new sympton will be from RP. The first time this happened to me I thought I was having a heart attack the pain was so severe. I still get it now and in my ribcage, but it hasn't been as severe as that first time. I hope it settles down for you. You do get a fright the first time it happens. Guest guest
lillian i have had that happen to me, in fact i was in hosp and had all kinds of heart test done. but that was before i was dx with RP. Now they are saying that what happened was, either i had an inflamation of the cartilege in the heart , or the breast bone where the cartiledge and ribs all join was inflammed. I would for sure talk with your Dr. about this because it could be of of major importance in your treatment. keep me posted. hope this helps. dawn --- bklyn1429@... wrote: > On Monday, I woke with a new issue that I am afraid > might be fromRP. Sue > Count me in for having chest pains also. In August of 1999 it was so bad that the doctor thought I had had a heart attack. I ended up undergoing a stress test which showed I did have one. However after having an angiogram, the cardiologist said that it was not a heart attack, and he had no idea what was causing my chest pain. Amazingly, when I am on the right combo's of med's, the chest pains subside. Guest guest
Lillian, Sounds like it might be Costochondritis. Does it hurt when you press on it? I have this and it hurts to move. Guest guest
Dear Sharon, what is combination of drugs you take. I realize the same combination doesn't work for everyone but maybe we're on the same things and dosage may need to be adjusted....Thank You...Sue
Guest guest
I agree with Sandy, Lillian. It does sound like Costochondritis, but please don't take any chances. Call your doctor ASAP!!! You don't want to fool around with anything in that area. Good luck and let us know what your doc says. W <>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Lillian, Sounds like it might be Costochondritis. Currently I take 150 mg Azathioprine, 15 mg Prednisone, 20 mg Arava per day. Plus cholesterol lowering medication, Ultram as needed and three different kinds of drops for my eyes. Before the Azathioprine I was on 20 mg of MTX a week. Whenever I try to cut my prednisone to under 5 mg, I tend to be bothered by the chest pain. I am on 15 right now due to the fact that I have been flaring. What are you taking? Hope your day is going well. I'm having same kind of problem - starts in my collarbone and follows the bond to top of y=my rib cage. I've also asked it this affects the bones, but no one has responded yet. This if 5 days later and I still can't lift my right arm to take off my shirt without the pain just shooting straight down the rib! God, I hope this is not another side effect or RP! My husband said maybe I pulled a muscle putting my fat dog on the bed,I don't know if that's it, but it still hurts! Hang in there!
