Guest guest
My insurance provider rejected my first attempt at covering surgery because the surgeon I am with is not under their plan. I've appealed, though, saying he is the only doctor nearby that performs this surgery. Do companies usually comply with requests for a local surgeon? If coverage is turned down again because of the surgeon, does anyone know of any other good surgeons in Upstate New York? My plan has one in Buffalo and one in Amsterdam. Guest guest
I lived in Buffalo for 4 years, and while I don't know any OSs in the area, SUNY Buffalo there does have a dental school, and local hospitals have residency programs for oral surgeons. There are many doctors in the area, and many teach as well, so their skill level should be decent. I would imagine that Amsterdam has fewer choices in this regard (I don't know if they have a dental school in the area, but I don't think so). If I were you, and can't get my insurance to pay for the local guy, I'd start looking in the Buffalo area. > My insurance provider rejected my first attempt at covering surgery > because the surgeon I am with is not under their plan.
