I dunno whether he does more or better. I have heard that he is very

skilled, very kind and very careful -- as well as very expensive. And

that he has devised some of the techniques that have become standard,

since. I have also known of one patient who found him unapproachable,

and his staff so impressed by him that she had trouble getting

attention for her post-op difficulties.

all docs have occasional clashes with patients, and certainly that's

no put-down.

But I'll tell you what -- If I were offered the services of Dr. A.,

free, tomorrow, or the services of my own Dr. Z., right here in

little ol' rural Alabama, for a fee, I'd take my own Dr. Z., in a

flash.

No put-down for anybody. Just saying that there are good (and bad)

docs everywhere, and unless you have some super-complicated troubles,

you may not need the world's leading surgeon, (who may or may not be

the Great Dr. A.) nor his fees!

I haven't been on in a long time, but happen to take a peek today and saw your

questions.

I had surgery with Doctor Arnett in September 2003. He is terrific. You can

check my

website for all sorts of pictures and info:

I recently got kicked in the mouth by a student (long story). I was far enough

along in my

recovery that it caused no problem whatsoever, but Dr. Arnett's office was

great. Dr.

Gunson, his partner, assisted with the surgery and the two of them usually see

me

together every visit. I really can't say enough wonderful things about the 2 of

them and

their staff. The people at the front desk even know everyone by name when you

come in.

He is expensive, but well worth it. He is neither cold nor unapproachable. I

felt completely

at ease throughout the entire process.

Good luck with whoever you choose.

Mich
