Guest guest
Hi everyone Day 4 from surgery, lower advancement, upper reduction, palatal split and upper wisdoms removed. I feel rubbish! Trying not to dribble all over the keyboard here. Very, swollen. I think I know how a balloon must feel just before it bursts. Congestion still there and bugging me. My lips swollen and so so sore. Food is difficult as I'm not hungry although I'm keeping up on fluids. Was banded on day 3 when I came out - just two small bands top to bottom at front - lousily placed as apparently a couple of brackets may be debonding - just what I needed. Will see my ortho next week although dreading the experience. Thats all for now - still feeling rather shaky. Best wishes Sue (UK)
Guest guest
Sue, shaky and rubbish are part of the drill at this point. I'm sorry that's how you feel, but it will get better. Just lie down, drink lots of fluids, take in as much nutrition as you can and take care of yourself. Let your buds take care of you, too. It gets better. Honest. Guest guest
Thanks Cammie Following your orders to the letter:) Tried some Sudafed today which worked quite well. I think as nerves are coming back I'm getting a bit more facial pain. Best wishes Sue (UK)
Guest guest
I got no orders to give... But I do hope that maybe a suggestion or two (as long as they're not counter to the professionals' instructions) could be helpful. Glad to hear it's getting somewhat better... I think you'll probably see some steady progress from here on. Hope so! Pain... Um, Motrin, or some other form of Ibuprofen? We can get Naproproxin (i think that's the spelling -- it's sold as Alleve here) over the counter, and that seems to be the most effective of all the NSAIDs to me. But I believe it's still prescription only in Canada. Don't know about where you are. Sorry you're hurting, though.
