Guest guest
Hey, OMG i remember reading posts of ppl that were around 3 days pre op and thinking, I won't be nervou, its not a big deal i will be fine. But om gosh i am so nervous my stomach is like killing me, i try to relax but it is so hard. Anyways, for my surgery, should i bring my zip-n-squeezes to the hospital??? I want to but am not sure if its a good idea, because i heard those syringes suck, excuse my language. Any opinions? thanks tori
Guest guest
Sure, bring some zippies with you. I used syringes, though, and was fine. Try to relax, do something to take your mind off the surgery. Things are never as bad as we think they'll be. It was a relief for me when I woke up, I felt great, honestly. A few things were different, I was weak, tired, numb, but other than that, I felt pretty good. > Hey, > OMG i remember reading posts of ppl that were around 3 days pre op > and thinking, I won't be nervou, its not a big deal i will be fine. > But om gosh i am so nervous my stomach is like killing me, i try to > relax but it is so hard. Guest guest
You know, I wasn't nervous. I had SO long to prepare for it, by the time the day came I just wanted them to put me to sleep. And they did. In a nice warm blanket! I felt nothing and remember nothing. Weird! I asked my doctor what I should bring and he said to bring me. Books? No. Magazines? No. Videos? No. TV guide? No. He said I was going to sleep my 24 hours away. And I pretty much did! The hospital provided everything that I really needed. I used very little of what I brought of my own, but here is what they were: 1. A little notepad and pen -- to communicate. 2. A change of clothes to go home in (I wore sweats). 3. A mirror. I had my compact, but guys, you might not normally have one of those handy in your purses. 4. Visine. 5. Lip Balm -- I've bought every brand out there in the last few weeks and am going with Aquaphor as the best bet. Made the mistake of using Carmex and paid the price! Only made things worse! The hospital just uses Vaseline. 6. Socks! I brought shampoo, soap etc. None of it was used. I don't know about your doctor, but mine gave me a pill while we were going over the last details before surgery. Unbeknownst to me, it was to help me relax. It did! Hope this helps! Don't forget to make sure they give you something for the nausea! Good luck!
