Guest guest
Hello: Bill saw Dr. Muecke at the NY Urology Center today. He had a scan of the bladder and kidneys. Good news is that the kidneys and bladder seem ok. No tumors. But, the doctor diagnosed an infection and prostatitis (sp.?), He prescribed Cipro; and Ploscar for 3 months. He feels that Ploscar is the medication of choice because it doesn't affect the bp. Now, we have to wait for the urinalyis. Thanks for all the suggestions. We had a long talk today about DEPEND and seems more open, plus he admitted to not drinking water because he didn't want to be empying his bladder all the time. I think he will think twice before trying that again. Aida and Bill __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Aida, The Depends thing is tough. We went out and bought all different kinds and settled in on the ones that give Rob the most security (extra absorbent) and are most like regular underwear. He doesn't wear them all the time but does if we will be out and about for very long. They give him more confidence that he won't end up wetting himself and being embarrassed, and we spend a lot less time looking for bathrooms. We are both more relaxed about going out. Guest guest
Aida: Not drinking enough will just make matters worse. It can also be painful. There may be some advantage in drinking cranberry juice. It does help with bladder infections. Tastes good too. He should avoid acidic beverages and caffeine as that will worsen any incontinence by irritating the bladder. Hope he gets over it quickly.
