Congratulations Ray!!! Looks like you're sharing the same surgery date with

A.J. and me (see Dammit's June Surgery List below). I don't know about you,

but I'm ready to get the show on the road. I have the people of these boards

to thank. They have helped me to prepare for my surgery. Once again, kudos

on getting your surgery date and it will be good to know that there will be

others for me to commiserate with post surgery. Take care!

I finally got a date : June the 2nd (at 9hh30 !!). I'm sooooooo

excited! By then, I will have waited 9 months more than expected, but

nevermind, I'm just so anxious to get this all behind me!!!!!

I can imagine how happy you must be after all that waiting.

Which hospital are you having it at? June 2nd eh? My birthday is on

June 3rd, so I'll remember to send you good thoughts the day before

Dale, it's sooo true that these fine people have helped me understand, and

accept the

surgery. I mean, I was freaking totally when I learned I had to have this

surgery. I read

the messages for a few months, and then realized it's manageable. I mean, it's

no joy, but

the outcomes, as small as they could be, will make this journey a fantastic one!

I haven't been able to eat steak for the last 8 years now, due to a badly

misaligned bottom

jaw (a problem that's getting worst as time passes). Not to mention choking on

regular

food (which I can chew because of the same problem).

If only my five or more teeth are aligned (as opposed to only 2 like it is)

after the surgery, I

will finally be able to eat " normally " , and probably will get rid of the

heartburns I constanly

have for not chewing my food properly. And, that's looking on the darkest side.

If I do

get all the benefit, then I'll have a perfectly functionning bite, a smile (I

haven't had a

decent smile since I was born), and the pure joy of eating whatever I want!!!!

I'll have the surgery at Notre-Dame (it's about 20 minutes home, as opposed to

Repentigny, which is about 45 minutes home). Much better! I had news from the

surgeon

today, she said some very nice things about how it's going to proceed... I'm so

nervous,

but in a good sens!
