Guest guest
Hi Tricia I am a diabetic who had surgery almost 5 months ago. To date I have lost 90.5 pounds. I was taking medication for Blood Pressure and Diabetes and thanks to the weight loss I am no longer doing so. So yes it did improve those things for me. Not immediately mind you but over a few months I was able to come off all but 1 of the 20 pills I was taking before surgery (that is not including the 4 shots per day). Candi I'M A NEWBIE Hi my name is Tricia I'm 53 and I'm 5'1' and weigh 207, I'm interested in talking with those who have had the gastric bypass, I'm seriously considering it. Guest guest
I have a question. I have an underbite and I want to to know if anyone has had surgey for this. How much did it cost? What was the recovery time? Thanks in advance.
Guest guest
well, those are tough questions to answer as everyone's cases vary greatly. i had an open bite, almost an underbite. they operated on both my upper and lower jaws. five weeks later i'm still wired shut, but other than that i'm fine. still a teensy bit swollen, but even i can barely tell. i had to pay $4500 out of pocket, although my surgery was probably upwards of about $20,000. insurance paid most of it and i also had to pay for my braces of course (and i'm still paying on them). but like i said, everyone's different. i hope i've given you at least a little bit of an idea. by the way, recovery is easier i've heard if you just have lower jaw surgery. anyway, hope that helps. heather > I have a question.
