Guest guest
Hi suzzane, congrats on your hernias. They will guarantee you a tummy tuck. We do have exercise gurus here, but I am not one of them Fay Bayuk 300/179 10/23/

I was advised by a bariatric surgeon and by a physical therapist, not to start any weight (resistance) training until after I have those repaired. I too seem to be stuck at a loss of 115 lbs and want to lose more. Have read many times over, that weight training is a good way to do it, so I'm anxious to get those hernia repairs, so I can get my weight loss jump started again. In the meantime, I alternate walking and water aerobics, an hour of one a day and then an hour of the other the next day. I was also doing yoga (alternating types every 3rd day) but had to drop the yoga for now bcuz of back troubles. I'm hoping the hernia repairs help with that too. There is some controversy over whether yoga is a weight bearing exercise or not. But the best thing is to get a combination of aerobic and weight bearing exercise, and I think it's important to do things you like (or, if like me, u just CAN'T learn to like ANY kind of exercise, at least find something you don't absolutely loathe, LOL). Guest guest
Welcome Suzanne!!!! I would really check with a doc on this one!! I do a lot of aerobics, and weight lifting and it seems to me that just about everything involves the gut muscles.......even if it is just for stabilizing!! You could see if your P.C.P would go for signing you up with a physical therapist.....I did this for muscle spasms in my back and it really helped!!!!
