Hey ya'll!

I'm , I'm 17, and I had surgery December 11... I am doing

pretty good now. My face isn't very swollen anymore, and I can chew

almost normal. Still not eating steak, or biting into apples...

haha... but its really awesome! Does anyone know how long it usually

takes before you can actually get to the point where you can chew

something kinda hard like that without feeling uncomfortable? I am

so scared I will mess something up when I chew something.. even the

littlest things like chicken. I am still trying to get used to

chewing and talking with my mouth different.

Well I don't know if ya'll remember me, I used to write back in

December/January, right after my surgery... I made an online photo

album with BEFORE and AFTER pics, including a few when I was in the

hospital.. so ya'll pleasssee check it out!!! The link is at the

bottom of this message.. Tell me if you can tell a difference!!! I

had upper and lower jaw advancement, and my chin was extended a

little. I am REALLY REALLY happy with the results, and if I had to

do it over, I WOULD!!! Thanks to this support group, I was able to

get through it without being so nervous and unknowing on what to

expect. For those of you who are still preparing for surgery, don't

worry, it's not as bad as it sounds.. For me the first week was

hard.. it was stressful... I didn't have an appetite and I lost about

10 pounds... but after the first week it all went uphill, and its

over before you know it! I am so happy with it.. I hope everyone

else has the same great results as I feel I did.

Thanks for taking time to read my message..

Best of luck to you all...

~ Gentry :)

Hey Ashlie,

Looks like you have been recovering quite nicely, and the pictures

are great - you can really see the difference in your profile. I

also liked the one with you and your surgery buddy - you guys look so

cute together with all your bandages :).

Hope you will feel completely healed soon!

Irene.

, Girl you look awesome! I have the exact same overbite that

you used to have. I am so happy that the surgery is over for you and

that you had it done at such a young age. Now you won't be self-

conscious about your appearance the way that I am. I am a 31 year

old mom who is trying to find an OS who will take my insurance so I

can get this stupid overbite fixed once and for all. Enjoy your new

face! I am so happy for you!!!
