Holy Shit , your lucky to be alive!!! Our health system is so

bad...doctors really don't care anymore. They are controled by HMO'S and

insurance companies, its all profits. One of my best friends in Florida

husband gave up medicine because he couldn't help patients anymore it was all

paperwork and profit. My GP is going to retire soon because of the same

thing.

No one seems to care anymore!! What did your doc say about this care?

Your an RN, did you scream and yoller? I would have been...well of course

that's easy to say when your not there and sick. Not even a braclet, that's

like the first thing...

I'm so very happy your home and SAFE!!!!!

I would raise so much hell, including administration you can't believe....

Bless you girlfriend....Sue

What a nightmare... I hope you really give the hospital the

business. It is scary enough to need to go to a hospital, it is even

worse when you are treated so badly.

Go and get them!

Kidney infection. We were so relieved to find out that it was not

RP related.

was afraid their negligence would kill me. I am an RN and I couldn't

believe how poor the care was. I had to ask twice for an

identification bracelet - which was useless as no one ever identifies

the patient before they give IV's or meds. One person tried to do a

finger stick to see if I needed my insulin and I told her I was not a

diabetic - she gave me a blank stare and walked away. She didn't

know my name but called me " bed two " . I had to send my husband home

for my RP drugs as they didn't get them for two days. So I took my

own. I gave them material to read about RP so they would understand

how serious it could be. I don't think one person ever read it. I had

a bronchospasm one day and they didn't have my meds there so they had

to call respiratory. They never came in and checked me after that to

see if I was alright. I had my light on for 45 minutes latter that

day for nausea and they still didn't come even though I had had

trouble breathing earlier. It took five hours to get My IV

antibiotics after I was admitted because " they were down in

pharmacy " . I never saw anyone wash their hands when they entered the

room. They never checked my IV sites - which infiltrated twice and I

then had to force them to change the sites

>

> When My fever's would break I would be soaken wet and ask for a dry

gown - they would hand me one and walk away. Never helped me put it

on which is a trick when you have two IV's going. Never change my

wet bed. Never had a resident examine me even though they couldn't

control my fevers for three day's.

am in shock at the whole thing! I had been a patient there before and

> Dear B.

So sorry to hear about your nightmare at the hospital. I think you

should send them a copy of the post below and see what kind of

response you get from them. It doesn't hurt to let them know just

how bad things have gotten. Glad to hear you are feeling better.

Take care. Love, Marilyn

I just returned home after 5 days in the Cleve. Clinic for a severe

Kidney infection. We were so relieved to find out that it was not

RP related.

B,

Find out the CEO of that hospital and write him/her what you just wrote us. This

is terrible!!

Also the Chief of Staff. You can call the hospital and ask for the names and

addresses

of these people.

Do NOT let them get by with this shoddy treatment. You could very well save

someone's life by reporting them.

I'm so sorry you had to endure all of this. I'm just thankful you " survived " and

made it back home.

Please don't let them get by with this without reporting it to the proper

authorities.

B.

Sorry to hear that you had such a bad time of it. Thank God you survived it

all. Hope you are feeling better. How awful that you got such awful treatment.

That is pretty scary. Hope your talk to the patient advocate helps. That is

almost ridiculous considering what you have to pay to stay to get the special

care.

Take care and I will be sending good thoughts and prayers your way that you will

have a full recovery.

Lots of Love

Glenda

,

Glad to here you are feeling better.

The last time I was in the Clinic I was not happy with the nursing care

either. Glad you are going to report it.

Hugs,

Sandy

B. Sounds like a horrible time, and they have such a good

reputation, too! That's supposed to be one of the best places in the

country! Be sure to give all the details to the patient rep., I know that

hospitals are short staffed, but that is ridiculous! Glad you are at home

and feeling better, but don't let them off the hook, none of us knows when we

will be in the same position! I just pray the hospitals here are better than

that one! Actually, since I am a " frequent flyer " , I usually get pretty good

care. They all know me! Hang in there! Love, Judy O
