Guest guest
Here's a suggestion while you are checking out the gravity boots/table thingy. Go to your nearest WallyWorld (Wal-Mart) to the sports section. Look for something called a Crystal Ball or ask about an exercise ball. They run about $15.00 have their own little pumperupperthingy and a tape to tell you how big to blow it up. Try just sitting on it for a couple of days. I use it at the computer and to watch tv. Then (with a spotter) walk your feet forward while lowering your upper body onto the ball then just relax and let your body stretch. It is great and cheap. Then when your back is feeling better you can do crunches on it. I do all my ab exercises on the ball. Cheap enough that if you hate it you haven't wasted a pile of $. And besides my grands love to sit on the darn thing and the littlest (9) just kinds drapes her upper body over it with feet planted on the floor to watch tv. Guest guest
I had my panni removed in April. The surgeon took off 25 lbs of fat and skin. The first time I stood up after surgery was the first time I had stood up without lower back pain in years. It was totally amazing how much better it felt. I also noticed the my balance was improved too. Lori Owen - Denton, Texas CHF 4/14/01 479 lbs. SRVG 7/16/01 401 lbs. Current Weight 302 lbs. Guest guest
Ceep . . .Because of my abdomnioplasty I won't be needing back surgery for a LOOOOOONG time. I was dying and living on Vicodin prior to my TT . . . I have now been narcotic free since the end of July. If the TT hadn't worked, the next step for me would have been back surgery and/or a narcotic implant of some kind. Life and living is so much better now and I am not yet 100% recovered after having 3 surgeries in 3 months , the last of which was 2.5 months ago! Document the pain and go for the TT, it makes a huge feeling difference and the appearance improvement is a bonus! ) Vicki > Hsllo efveryoe< I hope you are having a good day today... certainly better > than a year or more ago as a MO person.... > > I was just wondering does anyone know anything about gravity boots? > or about that arc shaped thing that is made of tubing that you lay yourself > over on tummy or on back (like in a back bend sort of) in order to stretch > your back out? > > I feel like my back is killing me and I feel like if I could just put myself > in a little traction for a while (more than just stretching whic I already > do) that I would pull out of the condensation in my tailbone. > > I do hav a great chiro that Judy davis Tejas redhead extraordinare turned me > onto. Guest guest
I accidently discovered something at the gym which has been a Godsend for my back. I use one of the large rubber or whatever balls (about 3 ft diameter I would guess). I sit on it and then roll my butt forward towards the ground. I put my arms over my head and, using my legs, I push slowly roll the ball from the top of the butt to along the back to the top of my back until my hands touch the ground behind my head. Not only is my back arched and stretched, the slight pressure of the rolling ball feels like I'm getting a back massage. It feels soooo good! I see people in the gym use these for lots of different exercises..think Shape magazine had a spread about it a month or two ago. The balls aren't very expensive. A real find at any price in my opinion...much more versatile than the machines you mentioned and a lot cheaper.
