Guest guest
Dear Sorry for taking so long to reply. I don't get on line much anymore - life's a little busy with 2 babies. > Yours is a wonderful, hopeful story! Thank you so much. > I am also ttc, What's ttc mean??? > I haven't been trying long, but I wonder how hard it will be. Not too hard I hope. > What homeopathic remedies did you use, The naturapathic physician made up the drops and I really can't remember what was in them. He said that he believed I had a chronic viral infection that had affected my hypothalamus and this in turn had put my immune system in hyper drive. I believed what he said (a few people I knew had seen him for years and he had done a good job for them). The endo and GP didn't seem to know or care about anything other than the thyroid hormones. Grave's itself didn't seem to matter. So it made sense to me to heal the origin of the problem as well. > and what other changes do you consider to be important in > helping to heal your immune system? Number one - I started putting my health first. Stopped working long hours. In fact I ended up getting a chance to do a project which meant working the hours I wanted and from home a lot of the time. This was really important as my previous job was just too stressful - (unit manager of a private Drug and Alcohol program). I made sure my diet was as good as possible. Limited take aways etc. I still ate the treats I liked in moderation! I tried to exercise more. I slept more. I did things that helped me to relax. I had my babies - happiness! > > Also, did you have to go on synthroid following the surgery? Yes. I put on Thyroxine 150mcgs the day after surgery, so I was never allowed to go hypo. In my first trimester this was increased to 200mcg as I started to go hypo. This is common in the first 12 weeks due to the increased need for thyroid hormones with a growing bub. I reduced this back to 150mcg only 1 week ago. My bloods were OK but I felt the last two test were a bit high for me - I had some minor symptoms of hyper. I want to see if this level is better now I'm not pregnant (youngest is 12months old already). Cheers Caroline
Guest guest
Caroline, Thanks for getting back to me! Ttc is " trying to conceive " ; I picked up this lingo on the Web ;-) I'm sure your previous job WAS stressful! I'm sure it helped to make the change. I have made a few changes myself (mostly dietary) that I am hoping will help. I am on such a low dose of ATDs (12.5mg PTU) that I wonder if my antibodies will decrease (TSI 199, but also have TPO-Ab, so maybe these balance my levels). Current doc won't add synthroid, looking for a new endo. It sounds like you had good docs who knew where to keep your levels! >What's ttc mean???
