Guest guest
Hi everyone, New to list here. I am a bit unhappy with my total weight loss. I thought I would have lost much more. I guess at nearly 17 months out that I am not going to lose anymore weight and have not lost any weight in several months. I stopped losing at about a year out. I am still about 10 to 20 pounds to a goal I'd like to see, although only about 8 pounds from goal from what the doctor's goal which is a little on the high side for my height. Also, I am scared to death of gaining any weight back as so many people have said is so possible once we get further down the road. I am wondering if a distal would have been better for me because of all of this and if it would be possible to do that now, not right away but in the future. Thanks, Donna

No reputable surgeon will make you distal at this weight. But, at 17 months, you're probably not even done losing yet, but even if you are, here's where you have to start working at it. It's " tool time. " Look at it this way...you wanted to be normal, right? Well, welcome to the normal world. ) Just remember, to break a plateau, you have to change what you're doing. Either you can do the jump-start method, by doing protein shakes only for a few days, or start exercising more, or cut the sugar & carbs, just to name a few. Work it girl, you can do it. in NJ
Guest guest
<> For most people, if you are really unhappy about your weight loss and want to do more, you probably can. It will probably take hard work, reduced eating and increased exercizing. There are some folks who are up against some unusually " resistant " metabolisms, but I think most of us can force another 10 - 15 lbs. if the price is worth it. I could lose another 20 lbs., but am not willing to go through agony to do it. I am working on the agony of losing 10, and then we'll see if my body can be happy at that level. Guest guest
Donna........I think only being 10-20lbs from goal is AWESOME.
