Guest guest
Bowling t-shirts, blouses or shirts Okay, I would like to make pink bowling shirts for all us bowlers on grad list, they would have a big GB on theback in Coca-Cola kind of lettering, you know with a swash underneath? And everyone who asks, we can say it stands for GIRL BOWLER, but secretly, we know it stand for Gastric Bypass !!!! Oooooh, I can hardly wait, I have bowled four times now. 1st game. 40 my five year old g'son did better than I 2. 38 I got nervous 3. 90 getting the hang of it 4. 149 I don't know what happened here, everyone's eyes were bugging out 5. ? go again tomorrow, prob go back to 38 again (grin) but I do not care too much; it is so fun! Second topic: poopie (I always cracked up when Ann Margaret sang that song sha-poopie) I can't tell you how MANY people wrote privately really funny and dear letters about this poopie topic, and wanted to know how to make theirs small in diameter. According to my two charges who I called today and gave the info to, Invaluable was the advice about flushing more than once. And not using tp right away. That was greatly better apparently. (reminds me of the person who told us this miraculous way of taking big pills, by tipping head forward on the swallow instead of back--it works perfectly for most, but wait, let's not get our orifices mixed up here---who told that joke? one old man said to the other old man, Why do you have that anal suppository sticking out of your ear? Oh, oh, said the other old guy, Now I know why I can't hear you so good. hahahahaha Okay, enough of that. ) Anyway, other people suggested drinking even more water to make sure everything stays soft, and that seems like good advice. And that is the advice so far to share with you. Someone asked me how they can have a 'movement' every day instead of every 2nd or third day. I asked about fiber and they seem to have more than enough every day. Any ideas? Third topic: back pain I can't thank you enough for telling me about how a panni or tt or abdominoplasty helped your back. I am extra extra chicken abut surgery. i have not had one for almost a year now, and that was three major crises surgeries after GB way back in early 2000. But my tailbone esp and my hips and my back are in a world of hurt. The bowling actually helps, I think stretches things out too. But it is this constant throb-ache deep. I dont know what I am going to do. I need a mommyangel to hold my big paw through anymore surgery. Just think of chewbacca having a tt, that's me. Howling like a big wookie before anybody even does anything (grin) Anyway, thank you all for your affirmation that maybe just maybe not carrying around this deflated medicine ball on the front might help the pitiful back. (You know, I do not know what the tops of my thighs look like sitting down since probably, hmmm age 12? but i looked last night---imagine me lifting the heavy tablecloth up and peeking over the top of it. I just have two questions, how did the front bootybag get so plump and if you have a tt, then what are you going to do with thighs that you can now see look like pudding without a bowl around them? grin? love, ceep G-MOM

Guest guest
Ceep......wanted to share something with you. Both my hubby and I used to suffer horrible lower back and hip pain! A couple of summers ago a therapist showed us a good stretch for it! It is a stretch for the " sciatic " .....but man did it work wonders. This is what you do: lie on your back knees bent take your left leg and place the ankle on the right knee (so your left leg is at a 45 degree angle) raise your right leg, keeping the leg at a 90 degree angle stretch as far into your chest as possible...you will really feel it stretch the sciatica nerve in the middle of your butt. Do this 3 or 4 times for about 10 seconds each leg!! It feels sooooooo awesome. It is a really good idea to do it before bowling.......if I forget at home I kinda do a sitting down version at the lane!! Bowling is tough on the sciatica and hip area......this REALLY helps!! Oh yeah....and about the people who want to have a movement everyday.....the stool softeners will really help with that too.........the bottle says to take 3 to get things moving and then 1 to 2 for maintenance. My doc also said that they are OK for daily use. HTH P. Guest guest
Something I read today about cystic fibrosis rang a little bell in my head... " The pancreatic ducts become blocked, pancreatic enzymes become deficient, and as a result, the child cannot digest fats and proteins properly. Undigested material is excreted in stools that are large, bulky, foul-smelling, pale and fatty. " Substitute late mixing of pancreatic enzymes with food (after the Y junction in an RNY) and subsequent poor digestion of fats and proteins, and maybe there we are. Does this make sense to anyone else? Does anyone have the scientific background to (I'm soooo sorry, but I can't resist) tell me that I'm full of shit, or am I on to something here? Guest guest
Yes. They float because we're malabsorbing fats/oils (to a degree). Not everyone's float, however. They once told me sinkers were a sign of SLD. Haha. Hardly true in my case, since a floater is something worth notifying the news media in my case. Guest guest
Good job, ! I was initially diagnosed in Sacramento with cystic fibrosis as a child of the '50s and then properly diagnosed at UC San Francisco later (thus my previous email on scaring and thigh lift). My proper diagnoses was Celiac Disease, a malabsorption issue and also having to do with lactate and grain free diets. The symptoms you have described are what I had and, in that respect, echo the same symptons as Celiac (or " Sprue " ) Disease as with Cystic Fibrosis. You are on to something. My poop has ALWAYS floated and I thought everyone's did until I was an adult. From my understanding, it is as you have described and is an effect of the disease and the malabsorption and fat issues. It is controlled with diet, and fortunately, my disease has somewhat diminished with time (however, I still float). The disease affects the intestines and can be painful, and the poop VERY stinky and " frothy, " as this is what sent my mom to doctor with me (she couldn't stand my diapers). So there it is. That's all I've got to give ya. Guest guest
I think you are exactly right!!!! I was at a support group a few months before my surgery and the Doc that was giving it explained that after surgery our B.M's would be different. He explained (not very techinically) that they would consist of a large amount of undigested fat.....and that fat floats and so would our B.M.'s......that is if we have a considerable amount of fat in our diet! Guest guest
Have you tried Flax Seed oil caps? I use 1000 mg. caps from Wal-Mart and take 2-4 a day. If by chance I should absorb any of it, it's all to the good- need that kind of oil anyhow and if I don't the bonus is soft stools. They are pretty cheap I think about 8.00 for a bottle of 200 softgels. Just a suggestion. Alice The Loon RNY 12/28/00 .....I use peri-colace, but it says to be careful about getting addicted. I guess it's also a laxative. I also drink at least 1 metamuncil a day. And, even then, sometimes it's every other day, and worse case scenario, 3 days. Guest guest
Be careful with this! I tried that on the recommendation of my PCP for a completely different issue, and it granted me the worst dumping episode I've had in nearly 15 months! I actually lost a day of work, so I will *never* go there again. Once again, YMMV, and proceed with caution. :-) Ziobro Open RNY 09/17/01 310/128/125 Re: bowling t's/ poopie topic/ back pain, what a combo Have you tried Flax Seed oil caps?
