Guest guest
I was just informed by my ortho that I will indeed need orthognathic surgery 10-12 after getting braces. I was referred to Dr. Kimble but hear he's expensive. Another thought was doing it at UW. Any other referrals? Kimble is expected to charge up to 15k for both upper and lower, where as UW might be as low as 8k for both. Any thoughts on this? My insurance carrier is prob not going to cover. Thanks in advance, Dusty
Guest guest
Dusty, I am in Seattle and just had my surgery on March 2nd. My surgeon was Dr. Hohl. I had both upper & lower and paid out of pocket. Grand total was just under 10k. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have. Good luck! Guest guest
Hi! I had Dr. Dale Bloomquist at Swedish, and he's had years of experience. I had the whole 9 yards done, upper, lower, genio and wisdom teeth, and it was about $7.5k for just the surgeon. With hospital fees and anesthesiologist, it came to about $10k. I really liked my surgeon and thought he did a great job - I wasn't wired at all and was only banded tightly for the first 24 hours. I wasn't quite as happy with the Swedish night care though. As long as you have someone there who can talk to the nurse it's not too bad. Lydia > I was just informed by my ortho that I will indeed need orthognathic > surgery 10-12 after getting braces.
