Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I have lots to be thankful for today.. I am alive and well. I am healthier thanks to undergoing RNY surgery two years ago today. I know I am a more confident person today than I was two years ago. I am able to go to work and work a full time retail job, walk for the most part without pain in my knees, shortness of breath, no longer need medications for asthma, hypertension, etc.. I can go to any amusement park and ride any ride I choose to ride.. I can fly across the country and fit comfortably in the seat and fasten the seat belt.. something I probably wouldnt have attempted pre weight loss surgery.. I go out to eat.. fit into any booth.. and my most recent accomplishment.. going through a box of clothing that my 22 year old daughter left behind when she moved out.. and finding that many of her beloved clothes now fit.. she has always been a size 10-12.. Life is awesome. I still have the head thingy.. where I see myself as a larger person needing larger sizes.. but slowly I am coming around. My next step is to have a circumferential abdominotrnchoplasty.. that is the equivalent of a lower body lift.. to remove the excess skin, and move skin upward and tighten muscles, and do some contouring through the hips.. I am hoping to gain insurance approval for this procedure and hopefully get this accomplished in the early spring or summer.. Post weight loss surgery, life is so much better. For those of you considering surgery, take it from some of us.. life is much better after surgery and you become healthier.. Yes, we have to do some things to maintain that health and appearance.. ie.. supplementation of protein and vites and minerals.. but a few handful of pills a day is a small sacrifice to be thin and healthy.. and the protein drinks.. especially proscore 100 chocolate and whey stack chocolate .. are like treats.. Take care all my friends, Hugs, from GA open RNY 12/12/00 Revision 04/18/01 Revision 02/07/02 St wt.... 392 Cw.......187 Wt loss..-

Guest guest
Dear Neci, I pray that the insurance gods will be good to me too.. At present, my entire Atlanta support group is writing letters and sending them daily to our state insurance commissioner about the needs of reconstructive surgeries after weight loss surgeries.. and that our need is not cosmetic as so many insurance companies are wanting to label the reconstructive surgeries.. Our state insurance commissioner is working hard to get the insurance companies to see things our way too.. we have gotten some feedback from home from the letters we have sent.. and we keep sending them.
