Guest guest
I'm 14 and I had leforte I, the one piece. They moved my upper jaw out and down around 5 mm or 7, i believe my surgeon said. Originally, he had sad he was only going to move it around 3 mm, but oh well. My recovery is ok, I am starting to get frustrated with being so tired tho. My pain is pretty low but I am a swimmer, and I am competing at the national level and am used to doing 7,000 yard practices a day or twice a day and it is hard for me not to be able to do simple things like take a shower without getting somewhat tired. Although I keep trying to have a positive attitude b/c that helps so much, it's just frustrating. On another note, no offense to those that swear on the Zip-n-Squeeze, they did not help me at all! In fact, I found them much harder than using a cup, granted i still needed to have a wash cloth under my chin for the first few days. My mom and I ordered around 20 zippies and i tried one of them the third day and I hated it. The wisdom teeth aren't too bad, but they caused me some pain the first few days in the swallowing department. That also might have been caused by the tube used during the anesthesia. Good luck to your son, he should do great. I would recommend asking for a puke bucket at the hospital if they don't give you one b/c I needed it and before surgery, I had only puke once in my life, and I was a baby and do not remember it. Once thats done its quite a relief tho, it goes fast. Good luck! *tori*
