Guest guest
I cannot tell you all how wonderful this site is to me. I am a 20 year old college student, and I have been suffering with jaw problems for about 4 years. I am so thrilled, if that is even the right word, to know that you all are dealing with the same things I deal with everyday. No one understands why I can't eat a Subway sandwich, or why I absolutely hate yawning. And most people don't understand what a 20 year old is doing with braces and a newly formed gap between her middle teeth. Well, I have one more visit with my orthodontist, and then hopefully I get to schedule my surgery. I have condyler hyperplasia, so I get to have my top and bottom jaws worked on. Not quite sure of the proper name, but you get the gist. I do have a few questions. I have heard that some people lose feeling in parts of their face after surgery. For some, this is a permanent thing. Does this really happen? Also, when you are wired shut, and you have to throw up, what do you do? That is kind of a weird question, but just wondering. Anyway, so happy to know that you are all here and we can share our experiences. I finally " fit in. "
Guest guest
Hello, To help answer your questions---as for the numbness, some people do end up with permenant numbness, maybe in just one area. The lower jaw seems to be the most common area due to a major nerve that runs along each jawline. And what happens if you vomit when wired shut, well this may seem gross, but if you have only been taking in liquids, that is all that you will vomit and it just kind of strains out through the little gaps. Good Luck, a > I cannot tell you all how wonderful this site is to me. I am a 20 > year old college student, and I have been suffering with jaw > problems for about 4 years.
