Guest guest
Hello, everybody, I haven't posted in a while, as my energy levels have been especially low since I've started working on a new spring-summer project. Although I am working only part-time, I feel as if I'm putting in the hours for two full-time jobs....it just takes me twice as long to do things.... I do read my RP digests daily, and, am so encouraged by everyone, as I have learned much from other RPers (makes me feel less alone). I had to respond to 's inquiry about the RP cat though, as I though it was rather funny. Y'know, my chiropractor does spinal adjustments on dogs. I know, he showed me the x-ray (I couldn't stop laughing)....i guess we can't exclude animals from human diseases as we all drink the same water and breathe the same air.... About 5 years ago, my sister was mentioning to her vet about my RP condition. The vet responded by saying that she recalls reading about RP in one of her many vet text books.... the drug of choice for RP in animals is cholchecine. I'm sorry that I don't have the exact text reference for you, , but, perhaps you can pass the info along to this woman in Greece and she can ask her vet about cholchecine.... My best to you all for a wonderful week.....aloha, karen ---- Original Message ----- To: <> Sent: Sunday, June 03, 2001 7:12 PM Subject: I have a strange request everyone > OK guys, I have a request. I need for everyone to send me the names of the drugs you are taking for RP only. Not for pain or breathing or anything but to control your RP. > This request is so that I can send it to a woman in Greece who is trying to find a medicine for her cat that has been dx with RP. > Believe it or not, this is the second person who has written about their cat having RP. > Angie took the first email on this and we really thought it was a joke, but now another person is writing about their cat having RP, so it does make one wonder. > I told her about metho and Pred, but her cat has a bad liver and can't take those drugs, so I'm hoping between all of us, we can come up with a drug that can help her cat. > I know this is a strange request, but I can't help but try and help everyone, even a cat that has this damn disease. > Thanks in advance. > w
