But I haven't started it yet. LOL I guess I really should... At the time they had given me a few drugs to start at once and I wanted to only start one at a time to see if I had a reaction and would know what one it was to. Well, I guess now is the time to start... Did you have any side effects from it.? I always hate to start new meds. LOL Thanks for reminding me.. Hope you are slowing down a little and getting some rest. Have fun in you next travels. Think of you all the time. hugs
Guest guest
Dawn, it is not crazy to feel depressed about chronic illness - it is one of the aspects that is really difficult to deal with. When I was first dx (although I had been having problems for years) I got v. depressed and weepy and stupid(!). I told my rheumy about it, and he said " have you ever thought about taking an antidepressant? " I said, " no, I have always been superwoman " he laughed and said " well, even superwoman needs some help sometimes " . So he put me on Effexor SR, and I started sleeping better and feeling better generally. Not euphoric or anything, just more like I used to. I am still taking it. I vaguely remember someone saying they had been prescribed it to help with pain, and I think maybe it does. So if you do get depressed talk to someone about it - it is all about chemical balance. I still rarely sleep more than 5-6 hours but it is better quality sleep! Also reading the mail about itching, I suffered severe itching before I was dx. I used to scratch my legs raw at night sometimes, I wore gloves to bed to try to minimise the problem. Mine cleared up when I started taking pred and metho!! I have decided I must be very contrary - my reactions seem to be opposite everyone elses!! Gail, thank you for sharing the prayer for Nancie with us. I am praying for her and Sandy and and Lu and Angie and as well as adding something for the people we don't know are having a hard time! Love to everyone, Liz __________________________________________________
